Join us for our Spring Season

By | News & Events | No Comments

Groove with us – we will be doing music of the ‘70s, ’80s and ‘90s (ABBA and others). Rehearals begin January 31 at First Church in Sandwich at 7 p.m.

Come check us out on January 31 and/or February 7 at open rehearsals. Arrive a little early, get your music, meet members, and then do a vocal warm-up and sing music we will perform at our spring concerts on April 23 and 24.

We welcome more singers  in all sections, but tenors and basses are especially welcome. We are non-auditioned, and you do not have to be able to read music; you can learn that, but you do have to be able to match pitch and learn and hold a part.

What You Can Expect:

Health
For the safety of all, we are requiring all chorus members to be fully vaccinated and boostered.

Members and potential members must provide a copy of your vaccination card when you send your check for dues and music or provide it when you check in at the first rehearsal. To attend rehearsals, including the first, you must provide proof of vaccination. We will not keep this info on file but just note proof.

We will be masking at rehearsals and concerts. You may wear the mask that works for you, provided it covers your nose and mouth and does not have a valve. Many singers have reported that singing in the blue surgical masks has been easiest, even without a “mask brace/bracket”.

If you wish to purchase a “Singer’s Mask” Notable Mask is one suggestion- this mask is a bit easier to sing in and was tested as part of a major aerosol study with singers.

If you feel ill in any way – cold, flu, stomach, fever, STAY HOME. This is a good policy any time – not just during the Covid pandemic.

If you have questions about vocal things, part learning etc., please email Danica Buckley at sopranocon@yahoo.com.

If you have general membership questions or would like to sign-up to receive information as we have it, please email Alison McMurry, Membership Director, at alisonsinging@gmail.com.

A Wintry Mix

Saturday, December 11, 2021 – 7 PM
Sunday, December 12, 2021 – 4 PM

It has been two years since last singing live! For “A Wintry Mix,” we will offer several short selections of the season, from lovely to lively, with a short sing along.

We are accompanied on piano by Cathy Bonnett; organ by Misao Koyama; percussion by Michael Dunford.

We are so glad to perform live again, and we want to do it as safely as possible for members and audience.Members of CCC are fully vaccinated and masked while singing. Similar to other organizations, such as the BSO and TD Garden, we are asking our audience to show proof of full vaccination or a negative result from a PCR or rapid antigen test, taken within 72 hours of the concert. We will require the audience wear masks, too.

The 1717 Meetinghouse offers seating upstairs and down. Some cushions are provided, but you can also bring your own. Large, lighted parking area.

Come join us in this beautiful, historic space! Tickets are available for purchase online.

In-person rehearsals begin September 13, 2021!

Due to construction at First Church Sandwich, this is our temporary rehearsal and performance space. Bring a cushion for posterior and back, if you wish. The church does have some. We can also set up a few chairs. We will be sure to stand up and sing and not sit too long at a time.
