2026 Scholarship Winner Named

The Cape Cod Chorale is pleased to announce the 2026 recipient of the Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship. Barbara sang with the Chorale for many years and passed away in 2016.

This year’s recipient is Cameron Phillips, who is a tenor who sings in auditioned choruses at Sandwich Middle Senior High School and has starred in leading roles with the school’s Knights Theater Company. He just finished playing the lead role in “Dear Evan Hansen”. Throughout high school Cameron has participated in the All Cape Music Festival and Massachusetts All State Music Festival. In addition, he has trained, performed, and competed as a tenor soloist and ensemble singer in the Handel and Haydn Society Youth Choruses in Boston, including touring to Salzburg and Vienna, Austria with them. His teachers describe him as versatile, humble, kind, friendly, disciplined, and an articulate writer. He has worked tirelessly to improve his musicianship, while also working part time, keeping his grades up, and traveling to Boston on weekends for rehearsals.

The Chorale congratulates Cameron for his hard work and all of his accomplishments. He will be majoring in classical vocal performance at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee this fall. We wish him the best with his college and career goals.

2025 Scholarship Winner Named

The Cape Cod Chorale is pleased to announce the 2024 recipient of the Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship. Barbara Knight sang with the chorale for many years and passed away in 2016.

This year’s recipient is William Lodge from Sandwich Middle High School.
William will major in music education in the fall at UMass Amherst. William is a talented tenor vocalist who has performed in lead roles for the Knights Theater Company at Sandwich High. He is also in the show choir, Sandwich Soul, and the advanced traditional mixed choir, Sandwich Singers. In addition he has been in the Massachusetts All-State Choir. He has earned the Massachusetts Association of Superintendents Award for Academic Excellence in his senior year and achieved membership in the National Honor Society. Will has worked jobs in the summer and year-round. He is a well-rounded student who played sports and received
accolades from his teachers who stated that William is a leader, role model, and mentor to other
students, including students of different abilities and backgrounds. William is looking forward to
the opportunity to work with experienced music education professors and choral conductors who
will help him strengthen his skills as a musician and further develop his artistry. We all wish him
the best in this endeavor.

2024 Scholarship Winner Named

2024 Scholarship WinnerThe Cape Cod Chorale is pleased to announce the 2024 recipient of the Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship. Barbara Knight sang with the chorale for many years and passed away in 2016.

This years’s recipient is Alex Finn from Dennis Yarmouth High School. Alex plays the trumpet, tuba, guitar, keyboard, and is a drum major in his high school’s band. He also plays in the concert band and jazz band. He is a member of the National Honor Society, with a 3.97 grade point average. He plays baseball as well. He volunteers for several events in his community. Alex is portrayed by his teachers as a strong leader who is dedicated to giving back to make a difference. Alex plans to major in music education at the Harrt School at the University of Hartford.
