The Cape Cod Chorale’s Scholarship Award program – the Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship – is offered to a Barnstable County graduating senior who plans to major in music in college (music education, theory, composition, music management, conducting, music history, performance, etc.) Barbara Knight was a tenor in the chorale for many years and served on the chorale board as well. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 87. She had retired as a captain in the U.S. Navy and was one of the first women to attain that rank. She also had a distinguished career as a social worker.
