On December 13 we hosted ‘Tis the Season of Song – our first virtual choral concert, a joint performance with Choral Art Society of the South Shore. We are proud to share with you our four videos from the performance:
- A rousing arrangement of Jingle Bells
- The traditional Hanukkah song Maoz Tsur (Rock of Ages)
- Vivaldi’s Et in Terra Pax (from Gloria)
- The classic In the Bleak Mid-Winter
Since September, our choruses have held bi-weekly rehearsals and vocalists have practiced on their own using guide tracks produced by Artistic Director, Danica A. Buckley. Each vocalist recorded themselves singing their part for each piece, and then behind the scenes, the videos were stitched together to form a “virtual choir” accompanied by Ellyses Kuan of the Choral Art Society and Cathy Bonnett of Cape Cod Chorale.
We will do another virtual season in the spring, with rehearsals beginning in January. If you are interested in joining us, please email info@capecodchorale.org.
If you’ve thought even slightly about singing in a choir, now is the time to do it. We are non-auditioned, and you do not have to be able to read music, although that is helpful. You do have to be able to match pitch and hold a part, and to balance your voice with others. Like every chorus, we need more tenors and basses, but we welcome new members of every voice type. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. at First Church, Sandwich 136 Main St, Sandwich.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
