The Cape Cod Chorale is pleased to announce the 2026 recipient of the Barbara Knight Memorial Scholarship. Barbara sang with the Chorale for many years and passed away in 2016.
This year’s recipient is Cameron Phillips, who is a tenor who sings in auditioned choruses at Sandwich Middle Senior High School and has starred in leading roles with the school’s Knights Theater Company. He just finished playing the lead role in “Dear Evan Hansen”. Throughout high school Cameron has participated in the All Cape Music Festival and Massachusetts All State Music Festival. In addition, he has trained, performed, and competed as a tenor soloist and ensemble singer in the Handel and Haydn Society Youth Choruses in Boston, including touring to Salzburg and Vienna, Austria with them. His teachers describe him as versatile, humble, kind, friendly, disciplined, and an articulate writer. He has worked tirelessly to improve his musicianship, while also working part time, keeping his grades up, and traveling to Boston on weekends for rehearsals.
The Chorale congratulates Cameron for his hard work and all of his accomplishments. He will be majoring in classical vocal performance at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee this fall. We wish him the best with his college and career goals.
